The Senior Valve Automation and Control Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing all activities related to the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability of valve automation systems across critical plant assets. This includes overseeing multi-discipline teams, ensuring system integration with automation platforms, and driving continuous improvement in valve performance to support safe and uninterrupted operations.
Lead execution of installation, testing, calibration, and commissioning of control valves, on/off valves, and actuators (electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic).
Supervise shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency repairs involving valve systems across processing or utility units.
Ensure all valve automation systems are correctly integrated with PLC/DCS/SCADA control logic and feedback loops.
Troubleshoot complex valve automation issues using diagnostic tools, valve positioners, and field communication protocols (e.g., HART, Foundation Fieldbus).
Review and approve maintenance plans, technical procedures, and valve condition monitoring programs.
Coordinate with process, operations, and control system teams to align valve operations with plant requirements.
Maintain and audit records for calibration, testing, certifications, and asset traceability.
Ensure contractor and vendor compliance during critical maintenance and upgrade projects.
Lead safety initiatives, ensuring strict adherence to lockout/tagout, isolation, and confined space entry procedures.
Provide training, mentoring, and technical support to junior engineers and field technicians.
Bachelor's or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field
8–12 years of experience in valve automation and control systems, with at least 4 years in a senior or supervisory role
Strong expertise in actuator systems, valve diagnostics, and industrial automation platforms
Hands-on experience in process industries (oil & gas, power, utilities, water treatment, petrochemicals)
Familiarity with OEMs like Emerson, Rotork, Flowserve, AUMA, SAMSON, etc.
Knowledge of ISA/API/IEC standards and best practices for valve maintenance and reliability
Advanced troubleshooting and decision-making skills
Leadership in critical path maintenance planning and execution
Strong communication and coordination with cross-functional teams
Technical report writing and vendor evaluation skills
Deep understanding of plant safety, compliance, and operational excellence
