The Junior Valve Automation and Control Supervisor supports the execution, testing, and maintenance of automated and control valves across plant systems. The role involves supervising field tasks, coordinating with technicians, and assisting in the troubleshooting and commissioning of valve automation systems. This is an entry-level leadership role intended to develop technical and managerial skills under senior supervision.
Assist in supervising installation, calibration, and maintenance of motor-operated valves (MOVs), control valves, on/off valves, and actuators (electric, pneumatic, hydraulic).
Support loop testing and functional checks during pre-commissioning and shutdown activities.
Coordinate with instrumentation technicians to ensure valve automation systems are integrated correctly with PLC/DCS systems.
Assist in the preparation of maintenance checklists, reports, and valve calibration records.
Monitor field activity, ensuring correct use of tools, materials, and safety practices.
Participate in troubleshooting valve operation issues and escalating to senior engineers when needed.
Help track spare parts, consumables, and ensure proper documentation for valve-related inventory.
Support safety and compliance practices in field operations including lockout/tagout and isolation procedures.
Learn and apply vendor-specific manuals and OEM specifications for valve and actuator systems.
Participate in training sessions, toolbox talks, and technical briefings to build competence.
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field
1–3 years of hands-on experience with industrial valve systems and control equipment
Familiarity with basic automation principles and mechanical components of valve systems
Exposure to control systems (PLC/DCS) and valve diagnostics tools is a plus
Basic knowledge of HSE procedures and industrial work permits
Technical aptitude and willingness to learn advanced valve automation
Good communication and teamwork in multi-discipline environments
Strong observation skills and attention to detail
Basic leadership and task delegation abilities
Physical readiness for fieldwork and adherence to safety rules
