We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Valve Asset Manager to oversee the full lifecycle management of valve systems across water distribution networks and treatment facilities. This role is responsible for developing and executing asset management strategies to ensure operational reliability, regulatory compliance, and long-term performance of valves, actuators, and associated mechanical systems.
Valve Asset Lifecycle Management
Develop and maintain a comprehensive valve inventory and condition database across treatment plants and distribution systems.
Oversee valve installation, inspection, maintenance, and replacement planning.
Establish lifecycle models and capital forecasting tools for valve-related infrastructure.
Inspection & Maintenance Program Oversight
Implement standardized valve inspection and exercising programs to ensure system reliability and operability.
Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance activities with field teams and contractors.
Analyze field data and work order history to identify asset performance trends and prioritize work.
Data Management & GIS Integration
Manage valve asset data in CMMS and GIS systems; ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility.
Leverage asset performance data for reporting, regulatory compliance, and optimization.
Support integration of smart sensors, remote monitoring, and condition-based maintenance technologies.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate with operations, engineering, and capital planning teams to align valve strategies with system needs and risk profiles.
Support capital improvement planning and contribute to design reviews for valve selection and placement.
Provide technical expertise for emergency response related to valve failures or shutdowns.
Regulatory & Safety Compliance
Ensure valve programs comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Promote safe work practices, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and pressure system handling.
Participate in audits, inspections, and asset risk assessments.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (preferred)
Equivalent experience in valve systems or utility asset management considered
Experience:
7+ years in water/wastewater utility maintenance, asset management, or mechanical system oversight
In-depth knowledge of valve types (gate, check, butterfly, air release, control valves) and associated maintenance practices
Experience with CMMS (e.g., Maximo, Cityworks) and GIS platforms
Skills:
Strong analytical skills and experience in asset risk assessment
Familiarity with pipeline and plant mechanical system interactions
Ability to interpret technical drawings and operations schematics
Excellent organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
