We are seeking an experienced Senior Valve Assembler / Fitter to lead high-precision valve assembly and testing operations for a variety of industrial applications. This role requires in-depth technical expertise in assembling, inspecting, and testing a wide range of valves (e.g., gate, globe, ball, butterfly, check, and control valves) in compliance with international standards such as API, ASME, and client specifications. The senior fitter will also mentor junior staff, support continuous improvement initiatives, and interface with QA/QC and engineering teams to ensure operational excellence.
Independently assemble complex valves, including large-bore and high-pressure models, per OEM and engineering specifications.
Oversee internal component installation, precise alignment, torque setting, and use of specialized tools.
Validate assembly integrity through measurement and fit verification techniques.
Perform high-pressure hydrostatic and pneumatic testing, seat leakage tests, and actuator function verification.
Troubleshoot performance issues during testing and rectify any faults in coordination with engineering or QA.
Approve and sign off assembly and test records, ensuring full compliance with standards (API 598, API 6D, ASME B16.34).
Provide guidance, technical support, and mentorship to junior and mid-level fitters.
Ensure proper training in assembly procedures, safety practices, and tool usage.
Lead pre-job briefings and participate in skill development programs.
Suggest improvements to assembly workflows, tooling setups, and quality assurance processes.
Maintain clear and accurate records of all assembly and testing work.
Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with internal safety policies, PPE requirements, and applicable industry standards.
Lead safety audits, risk assessments, and participate in toolbox talks.
Safeguard the correct handling, storage, and usage of tools and pressure testing equipment.
Technical diploma or trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Industrial Equipment Maintenance, or related field.
6+ years of hands-on experience in valve assembly, maintenance, and testing.
Proven ability to lead assembly teams and deliver high-precision work under pressure.
Expert-level understanding of industrial valve construction, tolerances, and operational principles.
Proficient in using torque tools, dial indicators, test benches, pressure gauges, and calibration tools.
Familiar with standards such as API 6D/6A/598, ASME B16.34, ISO 5208.
Strong leadership, mentoring, and decision-making skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Effective communicator, capable of working across departments (QA, engineering, operations).
OEM certification in valve assembly/repair (e.g., Flowserve, Emerson, Velan).
Hydrostatic/pneumatic pressure testing certification.
Valid safety certifications (OSHA, confined space, LOTO, lifting).
