We are looking for a skilled Mid-Level Valve Assembler / Fitter to carry out the mechanical assembly, fitting, and testing of industrial valves in accordance with engineering specifications and quality standards. This role requires prior hands-on experience with valve types such as gate, globe, ball, butterfly, and check valves. The ideal candidate will demonstrate mechanical precision, a strong understanding of valve internals, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Assemble a wide range of valves including manual and actuated types according to detailed drawings, procedures, and work instructions.
Install and align valve components including discs, seats, stems, glands, bushings, and packing sets.
Use appropriate tools and torque equipment to ensure tight tolerances and correct assembly.
Inspect and prepare valve parts prior to assembly; identify defects and perform basic rectification.
Ensure surface cleanliness, proper lubrication, and correct orientation of components.
Perform pressure testing (hydrostatic and pneumatic) and leak testing under standard procedures.
Support calibration and stroke testing of assembled valves when integrated with actuators.
Complete inspection checklists and ensure full traceability of assembly and test records.
Ensure proper handling and maintenance of tools, jigs, and lifting equipment.
Follow all safety protocols, PPE usage, and contribute to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Support junior team members and assist with on-the-job training when required.
Coordinate with QC and engineering teams to resolve technical issues or deviations.
Technical diploma or trade certificate in Mechanical Fitting, Industrial Maintenance, or a related discipline.
3–5 years of relevant experience in valve assembly and testing in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
Proficient in using precision tools, torque wrenches, and mechanical gauges.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, valve datasheets, and work orders.
Familiar with industrial valve standards (API 6D, 6A, ASME B16.34) is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset.
Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.
Safety-oriented with the ability to follow structured procedures.
OEM valve assembly training or certification.
Basic pressure testing and hydrostatic testing certification.
Workplace safety or HSE certifications (e.g., OSHA, confined space).
