The Senior Valve Application Specialist leads the technical evaluation, selection, and specification of valves for complex and large-scale industrial projects. This role serves as the technical authority for valve applications, ensuring full compliance with international standards and client specifications, and supports business development with expert-level technical consultation and proposal input.
Lead the selection and sizing of valves (gate, globe, ball, butterfly, control, safety relief, and severe service valves) based on process data, fluid characteristics, and design conditions.
Evaluate project specifications, P&IDs, datasheets, and process flow diagrams to develop detailed valve solutions.
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) during technical meetings, client consultations, audits, and design reviews.
Prepare and review technical documentation including valve data sheets, compliance statements, and sizing calculations.
Guide proposal and sales teams with technical inputs for high-value tenders and EPC projects.
Ensure compliance with global and regional standards (API, ASME, ISO, NACE, PED, etc.).
Conduct root cause analysis of valve performance issues and recommend application-specific modifications.
Collaborate with OEMs, engineering teams, and procurement for special material and design selections.
Support training of internal teams and junior engineers on valve types, applications, and emerging technologies.
Participate in factory acceptance tests (FATs), customer presentations, and post-order technical clarifications.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
8–12 years of experience in valve application engineering or technical sales support, including large-scale project exposure.
Deep technical expertise in valve design, standards, materials of construction, and actuation.
Strong command of valve sizing software (e.g., Emerson, Fisher, Samson, Crane Flow).
Experience working with EPCs, end users, and consultants on complex technical scopes.
Recognized certifications (e.g., API 6D/608/609 knowledge, PMP, or reliability certifications).
Experience with SIL (Safety Integrity Level) valve applications and control loop performance.
Strong leadership, presentation, and client-facing communication skills.
Familiarity with project lifecycles, from FEED to commissioning and operations.
