The Valve Application Specialist (Junior Level) supports the technical selection, sizing, and specification of valves for customer projects. This role assists the engineering and sales teams in identifying appropriate valve solutions based on application parameters, industry standards, and customer requirements. It involves both office-based support and occasional field coordination.
Assist in selecting and sizing valves (gate, globe, ball, butterfly, control, and safety relief) based on process data.
Interpret datasheets, P&IDs, and project specifications to identify suitable valve configurations.
Support in preparing technical documentation, material take-offs (MTOs), and compliance statements.
Coordinate with vendors and internal departments for valve specifications and availability.
Provide basic technical support to the sales team during bid preparations.
Learn to use valve sizing software and internal selection tools.
Assist in reviewing customer RFQs and technical inquiries.
Maintain a technical database of valve models, specifications, and application notes.
Participate in training sessions on product knowledge, standards (API, ASME, ISO), and valve technologies.
Bachelor’s or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
0–2 years of experience in valves, piping systems, or industrial equipment (internship/apprenticeship acceptable).
Basic understanding of fluid mechanics, valve functions, and industrial process systems.
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; basic knowledge of AutoCAD or valve sizing tools is a plus.
Eagerness to learn and grow in technical support or application engineering roles.
Strong attention to detail and good documentation skills.
Team player with effective communication skills.
Willingness to participate in site visits or field training when required.
