We are looking for a skilled Valve Actuator Technician with mid-level experience to perform inspection, calibration, maintenance, and repair of electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic valve actuators used in water treatment and distribution systems. This role requires hands-on expertise with actuator systems and the ability to work both independently and as part of a technical team.
Actuator Maintenance & Repair
Perform routine and corrective maintenance on motor-operated, pneumatic, and hydraulic actuators.
Troubleshoot common issues including failure to operate, loss of signal, or calibration drift.
Replace or adjust key components such as motors, solenoids, limit switches, gear drives, and feedback sensors.
Calibration & Testing
Calibrate actuator travel ranges and torque settings per OEM specifications.
Use diagnostic tools to test input signals, power supplies, and actuator responses.
Verify actuator performance through cycle tests and system simulations.
Documentation & Reporting
Record maintenance actions, calibration settings, and parts replaced in CMMS and maintenance logs.
Update wiring diagrams and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics when modifications are made.
Provide reports on actuator condition, failure trends, or maintenance recommendations.
Support Projects & Commissioning
Support actuator installations and commissioning on new or upgraded valve systems.
Perform field wiring terminations, pressure line hookups, and assist in functional testing.
Work with engineering or automation teams to validate signal integration with SCADA or PLC systems.
Safety & Compliance
Follow lockout/tagout, arc flash, and confined space procedures during all work.
Ensure compliance with electrical and mechanical safety standards.
Participate in safety briefings and maintain a clean, hazard-free worksite.
Intermediate-level maintenance and troubleshooting of valve actuators
Calibration and repair of electric/pneumatic/hydraulic systems
Technical documentation and support for new installations
Safe and reliable actuator operation in water infrastructure
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Technical diploma or certification in electromechanical systems, instrumentation, or industrial maintenance preferred
Experience:
3–5 years of experience in valve actuator maintenance within water treatment, wastewater, industrial, or utility environments
Skills:
Proficient in reading electrical/pneumatic schematics and wiring diagrams
Familiar with major actuator brands (e.g., Rotork, Limitorque, AUMA, Bettis)
Able to use multimeters, pressure gauges, diagnostic software, and hand tools
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and teamwork in field conditions
