VP of Operations – HVAC and Environmental Control Systems

The VP of Operations – HVAC and Environmental Control Systems is responsible for the strategic and day-to-day leadership of operations across engineering, manufacturing, logistics, installation, and service delivery. This role ensures seamless execution of complex HVAC and environmental system projects—across marine, offshore, defense, and commercial sectors—by optimizing performance, ensuring compliance, and driving operational excellence across global teams and supply chains.

Key Responsibilities:

• • Develop and lead the operational strategy for manufacturing, delivery, and servicing of marine and industrial HVAC and environmental systems.

  • Manage end-to-end operations including project execution, production planning, supply chain, logistics, quality assurance, and field operations.

  • Ensure efficient execution of newbuild, retrofit, and service contracts for HVAC and life support systems on naval, offshore, and commercial vessels.

  • Drive KPIs for on-time delivery, cost control, quality, and customer satisfaction across all business units.

  • Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement practices across manufacturing and project execution teams.

  • Oversee capital planning and infrastructure upgrades to support scaling operations and technological advancements.

  • Lead risk management efforts, including safety, regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO, ASHRAE, IMO, MARPOL), and contractual obligations.

  • Build strong partnerships with suppliers, shipyards, classification societies, and client technical teams.

  • Provide executive leadership to cross-functional teams across global locations; promote a performance and accountability culture.

  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and finance to align operational capacity with business growth goals.

  • Represent the company in executive-level client meetings, inspections, and strategic partnership negotiations.

1. 1. End-to-End Project & Operational Execution

• 1. • Oversee complex HVAC and environmental system deliveries from engineering handoff through commissioning and service.

  2. Manufacturing & Supply Chain Efficiency

     • Optimize factory operations, vendor networks, and logistics for scalable, cost-effective system delivery.

  3. Quality, Compliance & Risk Management

     • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ASME, IMO, class society standards (ABS, DNV, etc.), and industry safety protocols.

  4. Field Services & Lifecycle Support

     • Expand service operations for post-delivery support, including preventive maintenance, retrofits, and emergency repairs.

  5. Organizational Leadership

     • Build, lead, and mentor high-performance teams across regions and disciplines.

Qualifications and Skills:

• • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in operations leadership, with at least 5 years in an executive role overseeing HVAC, mechanical systems, or marine equipment.

  • Proven track record in managing large-scale manufacturing and project operations with global supply chains.

  • In-depth understanding of HVAC technologies, environmental control systems, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., MARPOL, IMO, ASHRAE, USCG).

  • Expertise in project execution frameworks (PMI/PMP preferred), ERP systems, and operational analytics.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

  • Experienced in navigating complex, cross-border operations in regulated industries (defense, shipbuilding, offshore, industrial plant HVAC).

Preferred:

• • Executive experience in marine, offshore, or defense sectors.

  • Knowledge of digital manufacturing systems, Industry 4.0, and smart HVAC integration.

  • Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or equivalent.
