The Vice President – Instrumentation and Automation is responsible for leading the strategic growth, technology integration, and business operations of the company’s instrumentation and industrial automation division. This includes managing a portfolio of smart instrumentation, process control systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS), safety systems, and digital transformation solutions for clients across oil & gas, power, water, manufacturing, and process industries. The VP will drive innovation, profitability, and long-term partnerships while ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Define and execute the business strategy for instrumentation and automation products and solutions.
Drive expansion into new sectors and regions, including digital transformation, Industry 4.0, and IoT-based control solutions.
Oversee revenue growth, margin targets, and new technology adoption in alignment with corporate goals.
Lead high-level client engagement, business development efforts, and key account strategies.
Support regional teams in closing large automation and control system projects and service agreements.
Build partnerships with leading OEMs (e.g., Emerson, Siemens, ABB, Honeywell, Yokogawa) and integrators.
Guide technology strategy across process instrumentation, PLC/DCS/SCADA platforms, control panels, and analytics systems.
Promote integration of cybersecurity, remote monitoring, and smart sensor technologies.
Ensure solutions meet international standards (IEC, ISA, SIL, API, ATEX) and client specifications.
Oversee turnkey automation project execution, from design and programming to commissioning and post-sales support.
Ensure coordination between engineering, supply chain, field services, and QA/QC teams for on-time, high-quality delivery.
Build and mentor cross-functional teams of automation engineers, control system specialists, sales engineers, and project managers.
Implement capability-building programs and succession planning within the division.
Provide regular reports on financial performance, risk assessments, market trends, and innovation initiatives to the executive board.
Ensure compliance with HSE, cybersecurity, and quality management standards in all project phases.
Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Automation Engineering (Master’s or MBA preferred)
15–20+ years of experience in instrumentation and automation industries, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
Strong background in industrial control systems, smart instrumentation, and process automation
Proven success in managing automation projects and leading multi-regional teams
Experience with EPCs, OEMs, utilities, and process industries is highly desirable
GCC/international experience preferred
