We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President – Mechanical Operations and Fabrication to lead the mechanical manufacturing and fabrication functions across our production facilities. This role is accountable for delivering world-class mechanical products through efficient operations, engineering innovation, and end-to-end fabrication process management. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and operational excellence to drive productivity, quality, and scalability in alignment with corporate objectives.
Define and implement a strategic roadmap for mechanical operations and fabrication excellence.
Lead cross-functional teams to optimize workflows, throughput, and resource utilization.
Oversee fabrication processes including machining, welding, sheet metal, structural assembly, and surface treatment.
Ensure advanced manufacturing technologies and lean principles are applied effectively.
Lead multi-site or global operations, standardizing best practices across all fabrication and mechanical departments.
Own operational KPIs such as uptime, yield, scrap, lead time, and labor efficiency.
Champion the adoption of automation, robotics, digital manufacturing tools, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Collaborate with Engineering and R&D to bring manufacturable and scalable designs to production.
Build, mentor, and lead high-performance teams across operations, mechanical engineering, and production support.
Promote a safety-first culture and foster employee engagement and professional growth.
Lead all aspects of mechanical production and fabrication across multiple business units or facilities.
Oversee capital planning, equipment acquisition, and facility layout for optimized operations.
Collaborate with Product Development and Engineering teams to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM).
Manage production budgets, cost control, and investment strategies for capacity expansion.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO, ASME).
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, root cause problem-solving, and process standardization.
Represent operations in executive meetings, customer briefings, and strategic planning sessions.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
15+ years of experience in mechanical manufacturing or fabrication, with at least 7–10 years in executive or senior operations leadership.
Proven success in managing large-scale fabrication environments (e.g., heavy equipment, aerospace, automotive, energy).
Strong expertise in machining, welding, sheet metal, and assembly systems.
Proficient in ERP systems, digital factory tools, and operational analytics.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
MBA or executive training in operations or business strategy.
Certification in Lean Six Sigma, TPM, or Operational Excellence programs.
Experience with global operations, multi-site coordination, or high-volume manufacturing.
Familiarity with sustainability practices and green manufacturing initiatives.
