Roles & Responsibilities

The Vice President – Infrastructure and Plant Support Systems is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, performance, and reliability of plant-wide support infrastructure, including utilities, HVAC, facility systems, mechanical services, and auxiliary operations. This position oversees the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of critical infrastructure that supports core production and processing operations, ensuring that all systems are safe, efficient, and aligned with long-term operational and sustainability objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Infrastructure Planning:

    • Define and implement long-term strategies for plant infrastructure modernization, capacity expansion, and operational reliability.

    • Lead infrastructure master planning in alignment with business growth and regulatory trends.

  • Operational Oversight:

    • Direct the operation and maintenance of plant support systems, including HVAC, water treatment, compressed air, fire protection, chilled water, and power distribution.

    • Ensure seamless and reliable utility support to all process and manufacturing units.

  • Capital Projects & Asset Management:

    • Oversee infrastructure capital improvement programs (CIP) from feasibility to execution.

    • Manage lifecycle planning, condition assessment, and optimization of critical assets.

  • Facility Engineering & Compliance:

    • Ensure that all systems meet applicable codes (ASME, NFPA, ISO, OSHA), environmental regulations, and safety standards.

    • Lead risk assessments, environmental audits, and compliance reporting.

  • Innovation & Digital Integration:

    • Promote smart infrastructure initiatives through IoT, SCADA, CMMS, and Building Management Systems (BMS).

    • Leverage data analytics for predictive maintenance, energy management, and system optimization.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Work with production, maintenance, engineering, and sustainability teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with operational needs.

    • Partner with external contractors, utilities, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution and system upgrades.

  • Budgeting & Cost Management:

    • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets for plant infrastructure and support systems.

    • Identify and implement cost savings through efficiency improvements and strategic sourcing.

  • Leadership & Talent Development:

    • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and facility managers.

    • Cultivate a high-performance culture focused on reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.


Key Focus Areas:

  1. Infrastructure Reliability & Uptime:
    Ensure maximum uptime and performance of utility and facility systems through preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.

  2. Operational Efficiency:
    Drive energy, water, and resource efficiency across all plant infrastructure systems.

  3. Compliance & Safety:
    Maintain strict adherence to local, national, and international codes and standards, with a strong emphasis on operational safety.

  4. Smart Systems Integration:
    Deploy advanced infrastructure management tools, digital monitoring platforms, and automation to enhance system control and insight.

  5. Sustainability & Resilience:
    Support corporate sustainability goals through efficient infrastructure planning, renewable energy integration, and climate-resilient design.

  6. Strategic Capital Development:
    Guide long-term investment in infrastructure systems to support future capacity, reliability, and compliance requirements.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering; Facilities or Infrastructure Engineering preferred.

  • 15+ years of experience in plant operations, utility systems, and infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in executive leadership.

  • Strong knowledge of building systems, utility distribution, energy management, and industrial facility design.

  • Experience managing large-scale capital projects and infrastructure upgrades.

  • Proven leadership in cross-functional environments and high-complexity operational settings.

  • Excellent financial, analytical, and project management skills.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., ASME, OSHA, NFPA, EPA) and green building certifications (e.g., LEED).
