The Vice President – Electrical and Automation Strategy will lead the vision, design, and execution of enterprise-wide electrical systems and automation strategy. This role focuses on advancing global automation maturity, standardizing electrical infrastructure, and fostering digital innovation in manufacturing and operational ecosystems.
Define and implement a forward-looking strategy for automation systems across all facilities.
Align automation goals with corporate digital transformation, sustainability, and productivity initiatives.
Develop global standards for electrical systems design, panel architecture, safety, and energy optimization.
Oversee compliance with NFPA, IEC, UL, and local electrical codes.
Spearhead adoption of smart automation technologies including PLC/DCS, SCADA, robotics, IIoT, and AI-driven control.
Promote integration of edge computing, digital twins, and real-time data monitoring.
Collaborate with IT leaders to ensure seamless integration of operational technology (OT) with IT infrastructure.
Ensure alignment between MES, ERP, QMS, and control systems.
Lead electrical and automation strategy for greenfield and brownfield projects.
Drive energy efficiency, redundancy, and future-ready design in global infrastructure projects.
Embed cybersecurity practices into electrical and automation architectures per ISA/IEC 62443 standards.
Develop robust risk management and incident response protocols.
Build and mentor a global team of automation engineers, electrical designers, and controls specialists.
Foster cross-disciplinary collaboration among engineering, operations, IT, and quality teams.
Establish strategic partnerships with automation and electrical system vendors (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider Electric).
Evaluate new technologies, manage procurement standards, and drive vendor innovation alignment.
Education:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related technical field.
MBA or equivalent strategic leadership certification preferred.
Experience:
15+ years in electrical systems, industrial automation, or controls engineering.
At least 5+ years in executive or VP-level strategic leadership role.
Skills:
Deep expertise in control systems design, automation architecture, and electrical distribution.
Strategic thinker with strong project governance, risk management, and digital acumen.
Proven track record in large-scale, global infrastructure programs and transformation initiatives.
