The Vice President – Digital Operations (Water Utilities) leads the end-to-end digital transformation of utility operations across water and wastewater networks. This role combines strategy, innovation, and operational execution to integrate advanced technologies—such as smart metering, SCADA analytics, IoT, AI, and GIS—into core business processes, optimizing service delivery, reducing water loss, and enhancing asset performance.
Digital Strategy & Leadership:
Define and execute a forward-looking digital operations roadmap aligned with utility performance, customer service, and sustainability goals.
Operational Technology (OT) Integration:
Oversee integration of smart systems (SCADA, AMI/AMR, IoT sensors) into water supply, treatment, and distribution operations.
Data Analytics & AI:
Leverage big data platforms and AI/ML tools to monitor real-time operations, detect leaks, forecast demand, and improve water quality compliance.
Smart Infrastructure Deployment:
Drive implementation of smart water grids, digital twins, and automation tools to enhance reliability, resilience, and efficiency.
Cybersecurity & Compliance:
Ensure secure and compliant operation of digital systems across all utility infrastructure in line with regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership:
Build and manage cross-functional digital teams including IT, OT, data analysts, and digital project managers.
Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work with global tech vendors, regulators, municipalities, and internal stakeholders to deliver large-scale digital initiatives.
Customer-Centric Innovation:
Champion digital services that improve transparency, billing accuracy, and consumer experience through platforms and portals.
Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, Digital Systems, or related field
15+ years of experience in digital transformation roles within utilities or infrastructure sectors, with at least 5 in a senior executive position
Proven experience leading smart city or smart utility projects
Deep understanding of OT systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS) and IT/OT convergence
Familiarity with cybersecurity, ISO standards, and data governance in utility environments
Visionary leadership in digital transformation
Strong technical foundation in water systems, automation, and IoT
Expertise in digital innovation, project delivery, and change management
Excellent stakeholder engagement, vendor negotiation, and budgeting skills
Strategic thinking with focus on efficiency, sustainability, and customer value
