The Senior Utilities Supervisor is accountable for managing the uninterrupted operation and maintenance of critical utility systems such as high-pressure boilers, steam distribution networks, and compressed air systems. This role includes leadership of a utilities team, strategic planning for reliability and energy efficiency, and ensuring full compliance with safety and statutory regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise combined with supervisory experience in a manufacturing or process-intensive environment.
Oversee the operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement of boilers, steam systems, and air compressors.
Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime.
Lead the utility operations team, set performance targets, and monitor KPIs.
Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and boiler inspectorate standards.
Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure seamless utility support.
Drive energy efficiency initiatives, leak management programs, and cost optimization strategies.
Supervise contractors, OEM service providers, and ensure quality execution of outsourced tasks.
Maintain detailed documentation including logbooks, compliance reports, maintenance history, and operational audits.
Conduct root cause analysis for major breakdowns and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Mentor junior staff and develop training plans for upskilling utility personnel.
High-Pressure Boiler Systems: Supervise water quality, fuel efficiency, burner tuning, and combustion safety.
Steam Distribution & Recovery: Optimize pressure levels, reduce thermal losses, and enhance condensate recovery.
Compressed Air Systems: Ensure air quality, minimize energy wastage, and maintain pressure stability across zones.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain up-to-date licenses, inspection certificates, and coordinate with statutory authorities.
Energy Management: Analyze energy usage data, implement best practices for steam/air system efficiency.
Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate performance of operators and junior supervisors.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to CAPEX planning, system upgrades, and sustainability roadmaps.
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering.
Minimum 8 years of experience in industrial utilities operations, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Certified Boiler Operation Engineer (preferred or as per local regulation).
Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid systems, energy systems, and plant utilities automation.
Hands-on experience with CMMS, SCADA/PLC systems, and utility monitoring tools.
