We are hiring an experienced Senior Turnaround Supervisor – Valves & Piping to lead, manage, and execute critical mechanical scopes during shutdowns and turnaround projects. In this senior role, you will be responsible for overseeing multidisciplinary teams, managing complex valve and piping operations, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and driving the timely and efficient completion of all assigned work. This position plays a key role in maintaining asset integrity and minimizing plant downtime.
Take full ownership of valves and piping scopes during turnarounds, including dismantling, inspection, maintenance, testing, and reinstallation.
Lead large field crews and subcontractors, ensuring safe and efficient execution of mechanical works.
Monitor field activities to ensure alignment with the turnaround schedule, quality standards, and safety procedures.
Resolve technical and logistical issues promptly to avoid delays and ensure optimal productivity.
Collaborate with planning and engineering teams during the pre-turnaround phase to define work scope, prepare method statements, and ensure material readiness.
Contribute to job packs, task risk assessments, and resource planning.
Coordinate with operations, QA/QC, HSE, and contractors to ensure seamless execution and communication.
Lead safety programs, enforce permit-to-work (PTW) systems, and ensure team adherence to LOTO, confined space entry, and hot work procedures.
Conduct field safety audits, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Oversee and validate flange management, bolt torqueing, valve testing (e.g., API 598, hydro/pneumatic), and final documentation.
Ensure the proper closure of inspection checklists, test reports, and punch items.
Prepare and submit detailed reports on progress, technical issues, and completion metrics.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior supervisors and technicians.
Evaluate crew performance and provide input on training and competency improvement.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance turnaround execution quality and efficiency.
Bachelor’s or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
8–12+ years of experience in mechanical supervision, with a minimum of 5 years focused on turnaround/shutdown execution involving valve and piping systems.
Demonstrated leadership in managing large teams and delivering complex scopes in high-pressure turnaround environments.
Deep understanding of industrial valve types (gate, globe, ball, control, SRVs), flange management, piping systems, and API/ASME standards.
Skilled in interpreting P&IDs, isometrics, work packs, and QA/QC protocols.
Hands-on knowledge of turnaround management software and CMMS systems is an advantage.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to make informed decisions under pressure and within tight timelines.
API 598 / 6D / 510 / 570 (Valve and Piping Inspections)
NEBOSH, OSHA 30, or equivalent HSE certification
