Job Title: Turbine Technician (Steam or Gas)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Junior Turbine Technician to assist in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of steam and/or gas turbines. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates beginning their career in mechanical maintenance or rotating equipment services. You will work under the supervision of senior technicians and engineers to ensure safe and efficient turbine operations during routine maintenance and major overhauls.

Key Responsibilities:

Support Maintenance Activities:

• Assist with the disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of steam and gas turbines.

• Clean, lubricate, and prepare turbine components for maintenance or installation.

• Support alignment checks, torqueing, and mechanical measurements.

Tools and Equipment Handling:

• Handle tools and lifting equipment safely and efficiently.

• Learn to use basic measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Safety & Compliance:

• Follow all safety protocols, including the use of PPE and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures.

• Participate in safety briefings and toolbox talks.

• Adhere to company policies and industry standards during all work activities.

Learning & Development:

• Gain hands-on experience with various types of turbine components (rotors, casings, blades, bearings).

• Attend training sessions and technical workshops to build knowledge.

• Learn to interpret turbine drawings and manuals.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Requirements:

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Power Plant Technology, or related field

• Apprenticeship or internship experience is an advantage

Experience:

• 0–2 years of hands-on experience in a mechanical, power plant, or rotating equipment environment

• Exposure to gas or steam turbines is a plus

Technical Skills:

• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and rotating equipment

• Familiarity with hand tools and workshop safety practices

• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment

Soft Skills:

• Willingness to learn and adapt to challenging tasks

• Strong attention to detail

• Good communication and teamwork abilities

Certifications (Preferred):

• Basic Safety (HSE) Training

• First Aid or Fire Safety Certification

• Forklift or lifting equipment operation (if applicable)
