The Mid-Level Turbine Technician performs routine and corrective maintenance on gas or steam turbines, including disassembly, inspection, reassembly, and operational checks of turbine components. The technician ensures safe, efficient, and quality execution of turbine maintenance tasks during planned outages and routine operations.
Carry out disassembly and reassembly of turbine components such as rotors, diaphragms, blades, valves, seals, and bearings.
Conduct visual inspections and assist in detailed condition assessments during scheduled outages.
Perform mechanical measurements including clearances, runouts, and alignment checks using precision tools.
Support flushing, leak testing, and calibration of auxiliary systems such as lube oil, seal oil, and cooling systems.
Follow OEM procedures and maintenance schedules for turbine equipment.
Work with rigging teams to handle and move large components safely.
Maintain and update work logs, measurements, and observations in maintenance records.
Comply with safety regulations including confined space, LOTO, and permit-to-work systems.
Collaborate with QA/QC, engineering, and operations teams for coordinated maintenance efforts.
Assist junior technicians and provide on-the-job guidance as needed.
Independently handle mechanical maintenance tasks on turbine components with accuracy and adherence to technical procedures.
Use tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and feeler gauges for accurate clearance and fit checks.
Conduct maintenance of support systems (oil, air, steam) critical to turbine operation.
Implement plant safety protocols including LOTO, PPE usage, and participation in safety briefings.
Coordinate with senior technicians and engineers for task execution and contribute to continuous improvement in procedures.
