The Junior Turbine Overhaul Supervisor assists in supervising turbine overhaul activities during planned outages, shutdowns, or emergency maintenance. This position involves close collaboration with technical teams to ensure turbine components are safely and effectively dismantled, inspected, refurbished, and reassembled according to OEM standards.
Assist in planning and coordinating day-to-day turbine overhaul tasks under the direction of senior supervisors.
Supervise mechanical crews during the disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of turbine components such as rotors, diaphragms, seals, bearings, and blades.
Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with approved procedures, OEM guidelines, and safety standards.
Monitor usage and proper handling of tools, lifting devices, and torqueing equipment.
Record inspection findings, clearance readings, torque values, and other technical data.
Support alignment, rotor placement, and coupling activities under guidance from senior staff or OEM reps.
Communicate task progress, delays, and safety concerns to senior supervisors or engineers.
Ensure job site cleanliness, tool control, and component protection during overhauls.
Participate in safety toolbox talks, pre-job briefings, and post-job reviews.
Report any non-conformities, incidents, or equipment damage promptly.
Assist in hands-on supervision of turbine overhaul activities to ensure correct disassembly and reassembly.
Understand and follow basic clearance, alignment, and assembly tolerances.
Accurately record field data such as measurements, findings, and work progress.
Maintain overhaul checklists, inspection records, and tool usage logs.
Ensure personnel follow PPE requirements and permit-to-work systems.
Promote safety culture through daily briefings and immediate reporting of hazards.
Allocate and monitor tasks for assigned technicians and helpers.
Support communication between technicians and senior maintenance staff.
Education: Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Technology
Experience: 2–4 years of turbine or heavy rotating equipment maintenance, including at least one major overhaul
Preferred Background: Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Heavy Industry Maintenance
Basic understanding of steam and gas turbine systems and auxiliary components
Ability to read mechanical drawings and work instructions
Familiarity with hand tools, torqueing methods, and alignment basics
Strong organizational and communication skills
Committed to safety and teamwork in high-pressure environments
Field-based position; long hours may be required during outages
Exposure to high temperatures, noise, and confined spaces
Use of PPE is mandatory; must be physically fit for mechanical work
