The Mid-Level Turbine Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the execution and supervision of maintenance activities on steam and gas turbines, ensuring compliance with OEM standards, safety protocols, and plant reliability goals. The role involves planning, coordinating technicians, troubleshooting, and ensuring quality control during maintenance operations.
Plan, organize, and supervise scheduled and emergency turbine maintenance activities.
Oversee dismantling, inspection, repair, and reassembly of turbines and auxiliaries (rotors, blades, diaphragms, bearings, couplings, seals, etc.).
Ensure execution of maintenance tasks in compliance with OEM guidelines, work packs, and plant procedures.
Supervise technical teams and allocate work to technicians and contractors as per daily work plans.
Monitor and validate alignment, clearance checks, torqueing, and balance procedures during reassembly.
Interface with QA/QC and HSE teams to ensure safety and quality compliance during critical activities.
Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for performance issues or component failures.
Maintain documentation such as work logs, inspection records, torque reports, and component status.
Coordinate with planning teams for spares, materials, permits, and equipment availability.
Support training and mentoring of junior maintenance staff and technicians.
Lead end-to-end turbine disassembly and assembly tasks, ensuring critical steps are followed.
Ensure precision in installing major components and setting proper operational clearances.
Monitor execution against maintenance schedules and report delays or deviations.
Maintain accurate records of performed work, replaced parts, and inspection outcomes.
Identify issues with vibration, leakage, misalignment, or unusual noise during operation.
Coordinate with OEM reps or specialists for diagnosis and corrective actions.
Lead toolbox talks, pre-job briefings, and safety walkdowns.
Ensure all personnel comply with lockout-tagout (LOTO), confined space, and permit-to-work systems.
Collaborate with QA/QC, operations, and engineering departments for maintenance planning and execution.
Serve as a technical point of contact for assigned turbine maintenance scope.
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience: 5–8 years of hands-on experience in turbine maintenance or heavy rotating equipment
Industries: Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Industrial Utilities
In-depth understanding of gas and steam turbine construction, operation, and maintenance.
Familiarity with mechanical drawings, OEM manuals, and plant P&IDs.
Ability to manage technicians and ensure execution quality and efficiency.
Knowledge of safe maintenance practices and HSE compliance.
Competence in using precision tools, alignment equipment, and torque devices.
Field-based job with frequent work in turbine halls and mechanical rooms.
May require working during nights, weekends, and long hours during shutdowns.
Use of PPE and strict adherence to site safety protocols is mandatory.
