The Turbine Maintenance Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and oversight of all maintenance activities related to gas and/or steam turbines. This role ensures that turbine systems operate reliably, efficiently, and within safety and compliance guidelines. The manager coordinates planned outages, corrective maintenance, long-term service agreements (LTSAs), and emergent repairs—interfacing closely with OEMs, contractors, and internal technical teams.
Lead the scheduling and execution of routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities for gas and steam turbines.
Develop detailed work scopes for Hot Gas Path Inspections, Major Overhauls, and Minor Inspections.
Ensure all maintenance is carried out in accordance with OEM guidelines and safety protocols.
Plan and manage turbine outages, including procurement of parts, contracting, and site readiness.
Coordinate outage execution teams including internal staff, OEM field service engineers, and third-party contractors.
Oversee quality assurance during disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of turbine components.
Work with reliability and condition monitoring teams to interpret data from vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and borescope inspections.
Make data-driven decisions for maintenance prioritization and turbine component replacements.
Manage relationships and contracts with OEMs (e.g., GE, Siemens, MHI, Alstom) and independent service providers.
Evaluate service performance, review technical reports, and validate repair recommendations.
Ensure compliance with LTSAs and manage warranty claims or disputes.
Control maintenance budgets, track costs, and provide variance reporting.
Manage turbine spares inventory including critical parts (rotors, blades, bearings, seals).
Maintain maintenance records, service reports, and component histories in CMMS (SAP, Maximo, etc.).
Ensure all turbine maintenance activities adhere to safety policies and permit-to-work procedures.
Lead incident investigations and corrective actions related to maintenance safety or performance issues.
Comply with environmental, regulatory, and technical standards (e.g., OSHA, ASME, API, ISO).
Supervise and mentor turbine maintenance technicians, planners, and support staff.
