We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mid-Level Turbine Assembly Technician to perform and support the mechanical assembly and build-up of turbine engines and modules. The role requires hands-on mechanical expertise, a strong understanding of technical documentation, and the ability to work independently or in small teams to ensure quality, precision, and timely completion of assembly tasks.
Assemble turbine engine modules and subcomponents following engineering drawings, assembly manuals, and process documentation.
Perform mechanical operations such as torquing, alignments, safety wiring, part fitting, and minor adjustments.
Handle pre-assembly and post-assembly operations including cleaning, deburring, and component verification.
Use hand tools, calibrated torque equipment, pneumatic tools, and lifting fixtures with accuracy and safety.
Inspect own work and assist in in-process checks to verify correct installation, fit, and orientation of parts.
Ensure documentation is completed accurately, including build records, part tracking, and sign-offs.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and logistics teams to resolve issues related to fit, function, or documentation.
Support process improvements, tooling maintenance, and troubleshooting during engine build activities.
Adhere to safety standards, 5S practices, and company quality systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO).
Mentor junior technicians as needed and contribute to a high-performance team environment.
Engine Module Assembly
Independently assemble engine stages (compressor, combustor, turbine) and subassemblies with precision and conformance.
Tool & Torque Management
Proper use and calibration of torque tools, lifting devices, and fixtures in accordance with technical standards.
Technical Documentation Interpretation
Proficiently interpret work instructions, torque charts, engineering drawings, and build manuals.
Process Ownership & Quality Control
Ensure all assemblies meet dimensional and fit-up criteria; support root cause analysis of build issues.
Team Collaboration & Training Support
Work effectively with team members, assist in cross-training activities, and help onboard junior staff.
Technical diploma or certification in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Technology.
3–6 years of experience in mechanical or turbine engine assembly (aviation or industrial gas turbines preferred).
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and assembly instructions.
Solid understanding of torque procedures, fastener types, safety wiring, and precision fitting.
Experience using torque wrenches, borescopes, alignment tools, and basic inspection gauges.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and commitment to quality.
Comfortable working in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment with a focus on safety.
Experience with OEM engines (e.g., GE, Pratt & Whitney, Siemens, Rolls-Royce).
Familiarity with ERP/work order systems and digital build records.
Exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices.
Basic understanding of FAA/EASA/AS9100 quality requirements (if aerospace-related).
