We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Toolmaker / Machinist – Fixtures and Dies to lead the design, fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of complex jigs, fixtures, gauges, and dies used in production and prototype operations. The ideal candidate will bring advanced expertise in machining, GD&T, and fixture functionality, while also mentoring junior toolmakers and coordinating closely with design and production teams. This role is critical for ensuring high-quality tooling that improves manufacturing accuracy, efficiency, and safety.
Lead fabrication of high-precision fixtures, gauges, and tool components based on detailed engineering drawings.
Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineering to review DFM aspects and recommend tooling solutions.
Operate and program CNC and conventional machines (milling, turning, surface grinding, EDM) for complex parts.
Assemble and fine-tune tooling systems to meet dimensional and functional requirements.
Interpret and apply complex GD&T from technical drawings to ensure precision and alignment.
Perform final inspection and functional validation using advanced measurement instruments.
Diagnose and repair damaged tooling and dies.
Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and ensure tool readiness for production use.
Provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level toolmakers.
Support training initiatives, standard operating procedures, and continuous improvement activities.
Maintain tooling records, usage logs, and update tool-related documentation in line with quality systems (e.g., ISO/AS9100).
ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die Making or Mechanical Engineering.
6+ years of experience in tooling, fixture design, die making, and precision machining.
Strong command of GD&T, blueprint reading, and CNC programming basics.
Proficient in operating manual and CNC machines, including milling, turning, grinding, and jig boring.
Familiarity with tooling materials, heat treatment processes, and surface finishes.
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with hands-on attitude.
