We are looking for a motivated Junior Toolmaker / Machinist – Fixtures and Dies to assist in the fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of precision tooling, fixtures, and basic dies used in manufacturing. This role is ideal for recent technical graduates or early-career professionals who want to build a strong foundation in toolroom operations, precision machining, and fabrication support. The candidate will work under the guidance of senior toolmakers and engineers to support production and prototype requirements.
Assist in manufacturing simple jigs, fixtures, gauges, and tooling components based on technical drawings and instructions.
Operate basic machine tools such as milling machines, lathes, grinders, and drill presses under supervision.
Perform manual and semi-CNC machining operations with a focus on accuracy and surface finish.
Support the assembly and fitting of tooling components using hand tools, measuring devices, and alignment techniques.
Read and interpret basic engineering drawings, sketches, and tolerances.
Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges for in-process checks.
Assist in preventive maintenance, cleaning, and storage of dies, tools, and fixtures.
Log tool usage and maintenance records accurately.
Learn advanced machining skills, heat treatment basics, and die fabrication processes under mentorship.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and 5S in the toolroom.
ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die Making, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent trade.
0–2 years of experience in a machine shop, toolroom, or fixture-building environment.
Familiarity with conventional machines (lathe, mill, grinder, etc.).
Basic understanding of mechanical drawings and tolerance principles.
Willingness to learn and follow safety and quality procedures.
