Roles & Responsibilities

The Junior Thermal Valve Assembly Supervisor is responsible for supervising and supporting the assembly activities of thermal valves, ensuring product quality, process adherence, and timely execution of tasks. This role involves basic team coordination, monitoring of assembly processes, and assisting in resolving technical and quality-related issues on the shop floor under guidance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise day-to-day thermal valve assembly activities including preparation, sub-assembly, and final assembly.

  • Ensure assembly operations are carried out as per work instructions, process sheets, and engineering drawings.

  • Monitor correct usage of tools, fixtures, and equipment, ensuring proper handling of components.

  • Assist in aligning manpower based on daily production schedules and shift plans.

  • Support the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and basic quality checks at each stage.

  • Verify that assemblies meet dimensional and functional requirements before moving to the next stage.

  • Report issues related to parts mismatch, incorrect fits, and quality defects to senior supervisors or quality control.

  • Maintain assembly documentation such as checklists, reports, and basic traceability records.

  • Promote shop floor safety, cleanliness, and adherence to 5S principles.

  • Coordinate with the stores, quality, and maintenance teams for parts availability and equipment readiness.


Key Focus Areas:

  1. Thermal Valve Assembly Knowledge:

    • Basic understanding of thermal valve types (e.g., pressure relief, temperature control valves) and their critical components.

    • Familiarity with spring settings, sealing arrangements, and torque requirements.

  2. Assembly Procedure Adherence:

    • Ensure processes such as cleaning, lubrication, fitting, tightening, and leak testing follow defined procedures.

    • Refer to engineering drawings and BOMs for correct part alignment and sequence.

  3. Tool & Fixture Handling:

    • Proper use of pneumatic/electric tools, torque wrenches, gauges, and fixtures.

    • Conduct basic tool checks and notify maintenance for any abnormalities.

  4. Team Coordination & Support:

    • Guide and assist 4–8 operators or technicians during the assembly process.

    • Act as the first point of contact for minor issues on the floor.

  5. Quality Awareness & Safety:

    • Conduct visual inspections, verify torque values, and ensure zero defect handover to testing or dispatch.

    • Enforce PPE use and promote safe handling practices of valves and components.


Qualifications:

  • Diploma or ITI in Mechanical / Fitter / Production Engineering.

  • 1–3 years of experience in valve or mechanical component assembly, preferably with thermal control systems.

  • Basic knowledge of mechanical drawings and assembly tools.

  • Strong observational skills, team coordination ability, and a hands-on work ethic.

  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow into a leadership role.
