The Junior Testing & Calibration Supervisor – Valves is responsible for supporting day-to-day operations in the valve testing and calibration department. This role involves overseeing basic testing processes, assisting in workflow coordination, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and supporting equipment readiness. Working under the guidance of senior engineers or managers, the supervisor helps ensure that valves meet required specifications for pressure, flow, and leakage across various configurations.
Key Responsibilities:
Testing Operations Support
Oversee basic valve testing procedures, including hydrostatic, pneumatic, and functional tests.
Assist in preparing test setups, ensuring proper connections, safety precautions, and equipment calibration.
Monitor results and escalate deviations to engineering or quality teams.
Calibration Assistance
Support the calibration of pressure relief, flow control, and shut-off valves using standard instruments.
Maintain calibration logs and traceability documentation in accordance with internal and industry standards.
Ensure calibration tools and gauges are maintained, labeled, and certified on schedule.
Documentation & Reporting
Record test and calibration results accurately, following SOPs and quality documentation protocols.
Assist in preparing product quality reports and final inspection documentation for customer delivery.
Update internal systems with part tracking, test status, and performance summaries.
Team Coordination & Safety
Help coordinate workflow for technicians in the test/calibration area, ensuring adherence to safety procedures.
Support onboarding and training of junior technicians on safe testing practices and documentation methods.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, reporting any hazards or malfunctions.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Associate degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field
Training in calibration, pressure systems, or valve mechanics is a plus
Experience:
1–3 years of hands-on experience in valve testing, calibration, or a related mechanical inspection role
Familiarity with hydrostatic and pneumatic testing environments preferred
Technical Skills:
Basic understanding of pressure systems, fluid dynamics, and mechanical tolerancing
Ability to read engineering drawings, test plans, and calibration specifications
Comfortable using pressure gauges, flow meters, torque tools, and calibration instruments
