The Senior Test Lab Supervisor – Mechanical Systems is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of testing activities for mechanical components and systems. This role manages technical teams, oversees lab operations, ensures compliance with global testing standards, and supports cross-functional product development teams by delivering high-quality validation data. The individual plays a key role in lab capability development, equipment procurement, and quality assurance.
Lead mechanical testing operations for components and systems (e.g., static, dynamic, fatigue, vibration, thermal, and environmental durability).
Manage and mentor a team of technicians, engineers, and junior supervisors within the lab.
Collaborate with product design, CAE, and manufacturing teams to develop test strategies that align with product requirements and validation plans.
Approve and review test plans, instrumentation setups, sensor calibration, and DAQ system configurations.
Ensure all testing complies with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM, SAE) and internal SOPs.
Oversee lab scheduling, resource allocation, and utilization tracking to meet aggressive program timelines.
Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for test failures or unexpected results.
Drive implementation of lab automation, data management tools, and digital reporting systems.
Maintain rigorous documentation of procedures, results, anomalies, and corrective actions for audits and traceability.
Support capital planning, equipment upgrades, and capability expansion initiatives.
