The Test Bench Supervisor – I&C Integration Stations is responsible for overseeing the setup, coordination, and execution of testing activities related to instrumentation and control systems integration. The role ensures that systems meet functional requirements and are ready for field deployment by managing both the technical and administrative aspects of test bench operations.
Test Bench Management:
Organize and maintain the test bench infrastructure, including hardware setup, software configurations, and test environment readiness.
Test Execution:
Perform and supervise functional and integration testing of I&C systems, ensuring all instruments and controllers meet technical specifications.
Technical Supervision:
Guide and support a team of test engineers and technicians in executing test plans and resolving technical issues.
Documentation & Reporting:
Ensure proper documentation of test results, procedures, and issues. Generate clear and detailed test reports for review and audit.
Coordination with Engineering Teams:
Interface with design, automation, and commissioning teams to support accurate integration, loop testing, and logic validation.
Compliance & Quality Control:
Ensure all testing procedures are compliant with project specifications, international standards (ISA, IEC), and safety regulations.
Calibration & Instrument Verification:
Oversee the calibration and verification of field instruments and test equipment prior to and during the testing process.
Troubleshooting & RCA:
Lead fault diagnosis and root cause analysis of integration or performance issues, implementing effective corrective measures.
Instrumentation Integration:
Setup and validation of sensors, transmitters, actuators, and control valves within a loop and system-level framework.
Control System Testing:
Hands-on testing and simulation of PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI systems; ensuring proper logic, alarms, and interlocks function as designed.
Communication Protocols:
Proficiency in protocols such as HART, PROFIBUS, MODBUS, Ethernet/IP; ensure reliable data exchange between field and control systems.
Loop Checks and Signal Verification:
Supervise loop checking activities from field instruments to control systems, verifying integrity and correctness of signal paths.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):
Enforce safety standards during testing activities, especially when working with live systems, high voltages, or pressurized equipment.
Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or Control Engineering.
4–7 years of relevant experience in I&C system testing and integration.
Strong knowledge of industrial automation platforms (e.g., Siemens, ABB, Emerson).
Experience reading P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and loop drawings.
Strong organizational, communication, and team management skills.
