The Senior Test Bench Supervisor – I&C Integration Stations is responsible for leading the strategic planning, execution, and oversight of I&C test bench operations. This role involves managing cross-functional testing teams, interfacing with engineering and project leadership, and ensuring comprehensive integration and validation of complex instrumentation and control systems in high-stakes industrial environments.
Strategic Oversight of Test Bench Operations:
Lead the planning, configuration, and optimization of test benches to meet project integration requirements and deadlines.
Project Leadership:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all I&C testing activities during system integration phases across multiple projects or large-scale installations.
Technical Excellence & Guidance:
Provide technical direction and mentorship to mid-level supervisors, test engineers, and technicians to ensure high-quality testing outcomes.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Collaborate with project managers, system engineers, QA/QC teams, and clients to align testing milestones with broader project goals.
Test Planning & Documentation:
Develop master test plans, detailed test protocols, and risk assessments; ensure full traceability of testing against design and functional requirements.
System Integration & Commissioning Interface:
Validate end-to-end control system performance, including logic verification, fail-safes, sequence testing, and inter-system communications.
Advanced Troubleshooting & RCA:
Lead root cause analysis for test failures or integration issues; drive resolution strategies and lessons learned processes.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Ensure all test activities comply with industry standards (e.g., IEC 61511/ISA-84, ISO, IEEE), safety regulations, and contractual obligations.
Training & Development:
Design training programs for junior staff and promote a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
High-Level Instrumentation Systems:
Expert-level understanding of field instrumentation (e.g., smart sensors, transmitters), calibration, diagnostics, and asset management integration.
Complex Control System Architectures:
Validation of DCS, PLC, SCADA, and hybrid control systems with redundant architectures and complex interlocks.
Cybersecurity & Network Protocols:
Oversight of secure industrial communications (e.g., OPC-UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP) and their integration with control systems.
Integrated Safety Systems Testing:
Lead testing of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), emergency shutdown (ESD) systems, and ensure compliance with SIL-rated components.
Multi-Project Oversight:
Manage multiple testing teams or sites concurrently, ensuring standardized practices and optimal resource allocation.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Instrumentation, Control Systems, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
Minimum 7 years of experience in I&C systems testing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or senior leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC 61511, ISA, ISO 9001).
Proficiency in control system platforms (e.g., Siemens, ABB, Honeywell, Emerson, Schneider Electric).
Demonstrated ability to lead teams in high-pressure, deadline-driven project environments.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical report writing skills.
