Job Title: Mid-Level - Telecom Infrastructure Specialist

Job Summary

The Mid-Level Telecom Infrastructure Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing telecom infrastructure systems. This position requires a deep understanding of telecom technologies and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, perform system upgrades, and lead installation projects for telecom networks. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This role is essential for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of telecom services, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement telecom infrastructure projects, including the installation of fiber optics, wireless systems, and network equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve medium-level telecom network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high service quality.
  • Manage the installation and configuration of routers, switches, and network devices for telecom systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of telecom infrastructure, recommending improvements or upgrades where necessary.
  • Ensure telecom systems are properly integrated with existing networks, meeting performance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Lead small teams or work independently on infrastructure upgrades and maintenance projects.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of all installations, configurations, and maintenance work performed.
  • Coordinate with vendors and third-party contractors to support telecom infrastructure projects.

Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Strong knowledge of telecom infrastructure technologies, including fiber optics, wireless, and copper systems.
  • Proficiency in IP networking, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and wireless communication standards (e.g., Wi-Fi, LTE).
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network and system issues.
  • Knowledge of network management and monitoring tools.
  • Ability to lead installation projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with network security protocols and the integration of telecom systems with firewalls, VPNs, and other security technologies.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, Fiber Optic Association certifications) are highly preferred.

Key Focus Areas

  • Telecom infrastructure design, optimization, and maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving medium-level network issues.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in telecom infrastructure, network installations, or related fields.

  • Fiber optic cable splicing and testing equipment.
  • Routers, switches, modems, and network security equipment.
  • Project management tools for infrastructure installations.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to manage multiple telecom projects simultaneously.
