The Senior Systems Integration Engineer leads mechanical interface control and integration activities for complex aerospace systems and subsystems. This role provides technical leadership in defining, managing, and verifying mechanical interfaces to ensure seamless integration, performance, and reliability across multidisciplinary teams. The senior engineer drives interface control strategies, resolves high-impact interface issues, oversees configuration management, and mentors engineering staff while interfacing with customers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead development, review, and approval of mechanical interface requirements, specifications, and interface control documents (ICDs)
Oversee mechanical interface integration planning, coordination, and verification across design, manufacturing, test, and systems engineering disciplines
Manage interface configuration and change control processes, ensuring traceability and risk mitigation for interface modifications
Conduct advanced tolerance stack-up analyses, fit checks, and interface verification activities to confirm compatibility and compliance
Investigate and resolve complex mechanical interface discrepancies, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions
Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and certification authorities on interface requirements, compliance, and technical issues
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to systems integration engineers and cross-functional teams
Develop and implement best practices, standards, and process improvements for mechanical interface control and integration
Lead interface-related risk assessments and support system-level integration milestones and readiness reviews
Represent the company in external technical reviews and program meetings related to mechanical interfaces

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field (required)
Master’s degree preferred
Experience:
8–15+ years of experience in aerospace systems integration or mechanical engineering roles focusing on interface control
Proven expertise leading mechanical interface integration for complex aerospace systems or platforms
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and interfacing with customers and suppliers
Technical Skills:
Expert proficiency with CAD tools (CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks) for interface analysis and documentation
Deep knowledge of interface control processes, configuration management, and aerospace standards
Advanced skills in tolerance analysis, fit verification, and mechanical systems integration
Familiarity with requirements management and change control tools (DOORS, JIRA, etc.)
