The Systems Integration Engineer leads mechanical interface control activities to ensure seamless integration of aerospace subsystems and components. This role involves defining, managing, and verifying mechanical interfaces throughout the product lifecycle, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to resolve interface issues, and supporting system-level performance and reliability goals. The engineer also drives interface documentation and configuration management processes and provides technical guidance to junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Define, review, and manage mechanical interface requirements and specifications between aerospace subsystems and components
Develop and maintain interface control documents (ICDs), interface control drawings, and related technical documentation
Coordinate interface integration activities across design, manufacturing, testing, and systems engineering teams
Lead interface reviews and support integration planning and execution to ensure compatibility and compliance
Perform tolerance stack-up analyses, fit checks, and mechanical interface verifications
Manage interface change control processes, including configuration management and risk assessment of interface modifications
Investigate and resolve mechanical interface issues and discrepancies during design, assembly, and testing phases
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to interface failures or nonconformances
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior systems integration engineers and support continuous improvement of interface control processes

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field (required)
Experience:
3–6 years of experience in aerospace systems integration or mechanical engineering roles
Proven experience with mechanical interface control and integration activities
Hands-on experience with tolerance analysis, fit verification, and interface documentation
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks) for interface review and analysis
Experience with configuration management and requirements tools (DOORS, JIRA, etc.)
Knowledge of interface control processes, drawing standards, and aerospace documentation requirements
Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications accurately
