The Junior System Calibration Technician – Temperature Sensors supports the installation, calibration, and validation of temperature sensing devices across automotive thermal and HVAC systems. This entry-level role involves hands-on work with thermocouples, RTDs, and digital sensors during bench, dyno, and vehicle tests. The technician ensures accurate data collection and sensor functionality under various environmental and operating conditions. Working under the guidance of senior engineers and calibration specialists, this technician plays a key role in supporting product development and system integration activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the installation and configuration of temperature sensors (thermocouples, RTDs, thermistors) on test benches, vehicles, and HVAC modules.
Support calibration of temperature sensors using reference standards and calibration baths to ensure accuracy within required tolerances.
Perform functional checks and sensor diagnostics during pre-test setup and live test operations.
Record calibration data, sensor locations, and wiring diagrams according to established documentation standards.
Handle temperature data acquisition equipment and software for logging during durability, performance, and environmental tests.
Follow safety procedures when working around hot surfaces, rotating equipment, and electrical systems.
Assist in troubleshooting sensor issues such as drift, wiring faults, or signal inconsistencies.
Support inventory management and labeling of sensors, harnesses, and calibration equipment.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Associate degree or technical diploma in Automotive Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
Coursework in instrumentation, electronics, or thermal systems preferred
Experience:
0–2 years of experience in a test lab, calibration, or automotive development setting
Familiarity with basic sensor types and wiring methods beneficial
Technical Skills:
Basic knowledge of thermocouples, RTDs, and signal conditioning principles
Ability to use multimeters, calibration software, and data loggers
Understanding of thermal measurement fundamentals and test setups
Soft Skills:
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
