The Simulation Engineer – CFD & Stress Testing is responsible for independently performing advanced computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate and optimize valve designs. This role works closely with design, R&D, and manufacturing teams to ensure valves meet performance, durability, and safety standards. The mid-level engineer develops simulation models, interprets results, and recommends design improvements to enhance fluid flow characteristics and mechanical strength under real-world operating conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute CFD simulations to analyze fluid flow, pressure distribution, and turbulence within valve components and assemblies.
Perform structural stress and fatigue analysis using FEA to assess valve mechanical integrity under various load and pressure scenarios.
Create and refine simulation input files, including geometry cleanup, meshing, and defining boundary conditions based on design specifications.
Analyze simulation outputs, identify potential failure points or inefficiencies, and communicate actionable recommendations to design teams.
Collaborate cross-functionally with design engineers, testing teams, and manufacturing to validate simulation results and support product development.
Document simulation procedures, results, and technical reports in accordance with project and quality standards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by integrating simulation feedback into design and process optimization efforts.
Mentor junior simulation engineers and support their technical development.
