The Junior Shutdown Instrumentation Planner supports the preparation, coordination, and documentation of all instrumentation-related tasks during plant shutdowns and turnarounds. This includes assisting in work scope development, material take-offs, manpower planning, and progress tracking to ensure smooth and timely execution of field instrumentation maintenance and testing activities.
Assist in compiling and reviewing shutdown work lists related to instrumentation (e.g., calibration, loop checks, valve testing).
Help prepare job plans, checklists, and task sequences for preventive and corrective maintenance scopes.
Coordinate with I&C engineers and field supervisors to identify required tools, equipment, and materials.
Support the creation of work packages including drawings, technical procedures, permits, and safety plans.
Assist in creating Gantt charts or work schedules under supervision using planning software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
Update progress reports, maintain punch lists, and help track completed vs. pending work.
Ensure proper filing of instrumentation documents, inspection records, and test reports.
Participate in site walkthroughs and assist in scope verification and job readiness inspections.
Communicate with warehouse or procurement teams for status of instrumentation spare parts.
Support planning team in shutdown closeout documentation and lessons learned tracking.
