We are seeking an experienced Shutdown/Turnaround Manager (Mechanical) to lead and manage the planning, execution, and closeout of mechanical scopes in shutdowns, turnarounds, and major maintenance events. This role is critical to ensuring plant availability, mechanical integrity, and operational readiness. The ideal candidate will be a strategic planner with strong technical knowledge, leadership capability, and a proven record of delivering complex mechanical shutdowns safely, on time, and within budget.
Lead all planning phases of mechanical shutdowns and turnarounds—including scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Define work packs, review equipment lists, identify critical path items, and ensure detailed execution plans are in place.
Coordinate with operations, maintenance, inspection, and HSE teams to align on shutdown scope and goals.
Manage field execution of all mechanical works during shutdown, including equipment disassembly, inspection, repair, installation, and testing.
Oversee contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
Monitor daily progress, resolve issues in real-time, and maintain control over scope changes and risk mitigation.
Ensure that all mechanical activities (valves, static equipment, piping, rotating equipment, heat exchangers, etc.) are executed according to standards (ASME, API, OEM specs).
Validate quality of inspections, repairs, and replacements; confirm equipment is safe for return to service.
Apply Root Cause Analysis (RCA) where needed to inform future preventive strategies.
Track and control turnaround budgets and timelines; identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
Produce daily and post-event reports capturing performance, challenges, and key lessons learned.
Lead post-turnaround reviews and develop action plans for improvement.
Lead cross-functional teams and interface with senior leadership, engineering, HSE, and operations.
Maintain continuous communication with all stakeholders before, during, and after shutdown execution.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence among all teams and contractors.
