We are seeking a results-oriented and technically skilled Senior Sheet Metal Supervisor to lead and manage sheet metal fabrication operations. This role is responsible for overseeing production teams, ensuring delivery on quality and efficiency goals, coordinating with engineering and QA teams, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in sheet metal manufacturing processes, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Plan, monitor, and optimize daily sheet metal operations including laser cutting, punching, bending, forming, welding, and assembly.
Ensure production schedules, quality standards, and delivery timelines are consistently met.
Supervise multiple shifts and lead a team of supervisors, technicians, and machine operators.
Mentor junior supervisors and foster a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability, and teamwork.
Ensure that all fabricated products meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and relevant industry standards (ISO, AWS, etc.).
Coordinate with QA/QC teams to implement inspection procedures, resolve non-conformities, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify bottlenecks and lead initiatives to improve throughput, reduce scrap, and enhance process efficiency.
Implement 5S, lean manufacturing, and root cause analysis tools for quality and productivity improvement.
Work closely with Engineering, Planning, Maintenance, and Procurement to ensure operational alignment.
Participate in design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews and feedback loops with product design teams.
Ensure safe and efficient operation of sheet metal fabrication machinery and equipment.
Analyze production data, track KPIs, and report on performance to senior management.
Manage capacity planning, shift scheduling, and resource allocation to meet production goals.
Oversee preventative maintenance activities and coordinate downtime response.
Support audits (internal/external) and compliance initiatives (ISO, OSHA, etc.).
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or equivalent technical field.
8–12 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, including 4–6 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Expertise in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, weld symbols, and material specifications.
Proven leadership of large fabrication teams and shift-based operations.
Strong knowledge of fabrication machinery (laser cutting, turret punch, press brake, etc.).
Experience in ERP/MRP systems for production tracking (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JobBOSS).
Familiarity with quality standards like ISO 9001, AS9100 (aerospace), or IATF 16949 (automotive).
Lean Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt) is a plus.
Hands-on experience in sheet metal sectors such as HVAC, industrial enclosures, vehicle chassis, or custom fabrication.
