We are seeking an experienced and proactive Mid-Level Sheet Metal Supervisor to manage the day-to-day operations of our sheet metal fabrication unit. The role includes supervising teams, coordinating workflow, ensuring production quality, and maintaining safety and efficiency on the shop floor. This position is ideal for individuals with strong technical expertise in sheet metal processes and proven leadership in a manufacturing environment.
Supervise daily operations of laser cutting, CNC punching, press brake bending, spot welding, and sheet metal assembly.
Ensure production meets deadlines, quality targets, and safety standards.
Lead and manage a team of operators and technicians across shifts.
Allocate work based on job priorities and skill levels.
Support employee training, upskilling, and cross-functional flexibility.
Monitor in-process checks to ensure fabricated parts meet drawing specifications and tolerances.
Work closely with QA/QC teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols, use of PPE, and machine safety practices.
Maintain documentation for compliance with ISO, OSHA, or customer-specific standards.
Monitor machine utilization, minimize downtime, and ensure proper tool usage.
Coordinate with maintenance for scheduled servicing and urgent repairs.
Interpret and communicate fabrication drawings and job orders to team members.
Maintain daily production reports, shift logs, and performance metrics.
Identify areas for improvement in process flow, material handling, and manpower utilization.
Support lean manufacturing initiatives and 5S implementation.
Collaborate with planning, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure job readiness.
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field.
4–7 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Proficient in reading fabrication drawings, tolerances, and weld symbols.
Hands-on experience with CNC sheet metal machinery (laser, turret punch, press brake, etc.).
Strong team coordination and production scheduling skills.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production tracking tools.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, 5S, and lean manufacturing principles.
Basic understanding of welding, riveting, and assembly processes.
Experience in industries such as HVAC, electrical enclosures, automotive components, or appliance manufacturing.
