Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Sheet Metal Forming Specialist to support our fabrication and manufacturing operations. In this role, you will assist in the preparation, forming, and inspection of sheet metal parts and assemblies. You will gain hands-on experience with various forming processes and tools while working closely with senior technicians and engineers to meet production goals and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Sheet Metal Forming & Fabrication Support

  • Assist in the setup and operation of sheet metal forming machines such as press brakes, shears, rollers, and stamping machines.

  • Perform basic forming operations including bending, folding, punching, and trimming according to work instructions and drawings.

  • Support the fabrication of parts based on blueprints and CAD drawings under supervision.

2. Tooling & Equipment Handling

  • Prepare, maintain, and change forming tools and dies as per job requirements.

  • Ensure machines are cleaned and maintained for optimal performance and safety.

3. Quality & Inspection

  • Perform in-process inspections using basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures).

  • Report any deviations from specifications or defects to supervisors or quality control.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, including job cards and inspection logs.

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and safety guidelines.

5. Learning & Development

  • Receive training in sheet metal materials, forming techniques, and reading engineering drawings.

  • Work closely with senior specialists to understand tolerances, forming sequences, and material behavior.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, ITI, or diploma in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Sheet Metal Technology.

  • 0–2 years of hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication or forming (internship/apprenticeship acceptable).

  • Basic knowledge of sheet metal tools, machines, and safety procedures.

  • Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings is an advantage.

  • Willingness to learn and grow in a manufacturing/fabrication environment.

Work Environment:

  • Workshop/fabrication floor setting with exposure to machinery and forming equipment.

  • May involve physical lifting, standing for extended periods, and working around loud machinery.
