The role demands extensive experience in field instrumentation, leadership in multidisciplinary teams, and assurance of high standards in installation quality, safety, and documentation.
Lead cross-functional wiring teams across multiple zones or projects.
Develop detailed wiring execution strategies, manpower plans, and productivity metrics.
Interface with senior project engineers to align wiring milestones with system commissioning goals.
Ensure installation and routing comply with IEC/NEC standards, ATEX/HAZLOC classifications (where applicable), and industry best practices.
Integrate sensor and actuator wiring into complex control architectures involving PLCs, DCS, SCADA, motion controllers, and robotics.
Manage signal integrity, shielding, and grounding for analog/digital sensors, RTDs, thermocouples, encoders, solenoids, actuators, etc.
Direct team in addressing complex I/O mismatches, signal losses, or noise issues during loop checking and diagnostics.
Validate and redline control panel wiring diagrams, termination schedules, and loop diagrams.
Ensure precise as-built documentation and traceability for audits, QA/QC, or regulatory compliance (e.g., GMP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11).
Oversee inventory of wiring materials, specialized connectors, instrumentation enclosures, and consumables.
Evaluate and recommend high-performance cabling or field instrumentation for new projects.
Conduct root cause analysis of wiring defects, signal issues, and interface problems.
Champion continuous improvement in wiring practices, tools, training, and materials.
Lead risk assessments and enforce strict compliance with electrical safety procedures, EHS protocols, and control room standards.
Train technicians on LOTO, arc flash boundaries, ATEX zones, and cleanroom wiring protocols (if applicable).
Mentor mid-level supervisors and wiring technicians, promoting technical excellence and field decision-making.
Act as technical liaison between field teams, engineering, commissioning, and QA/QC groups.
