The Sensor and Actuator Wiring Supervisor (Mid-Level) is responsible for supervising and ensuring high-quality installation, routing, and termination of wiring for industrial sensors and actuators. This role requires technical leadership, cross-disciplinary coordination, and compliance with electrical and instrumentation standards in support of automation systems.
Lead a team of wiring technicians, assigning daily tasks and ensuring adherence to wiring plans and schedules.
Provide on-site guidance to technicians during the installation and termination of field devices such as proximity sensors, pressure transmitters, solenoid valves, and actuators.
Ensure all wiring adheres to project specifications, electrical codes (NEC/IEC), and instrumentation standards.
Oversee proper cable management including routing, dressing, shielding, grounding, and strain relief techniques.
Verify and troubleshoot connections for analog and digital sensors, encoders, actuators, and related field instrumentation.
Collaborate with control systems engineers to validate I/O signals during loop checks and commissioning.
Interpret and mark up P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring schematics, cable schedules, and termination drawings.
Ensure as-built documentation is updated post-installation and handed over to QA/QC or engineering.
Monitor wiring consumables such as cables, glands, terminals, tags, and connectors.
Conduct quality inspections to ensure accuracy, integrity, and safety of terminations and field wiring.
Coordinate with mechanical, automation, and civil teams to avoid conflicts and ensure efficient field routing.
Assist in resolving field issues during FAT/SAT, providing rapid support to commissioning teams.
Enforce electrical safety policies (LOTO, arc flash prevention, PPE).
Ensure proper ESD handling procedures are followed for sensitive instrumentation.
Maintain daily progress reports and escalate wiring issues that could impact project timelines.
Mentor junior wiring technicians, conducting informal training or toolbox talks on best practices.
