The Junior Sensor and Actuator Wiring Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supporting the installation, routing, and testing of wiring for industrial sensors and actuators used in automation systems. This hands-on role ensures correct wiring practices, adherence to electrical standards, and supports the commissioning of I/O connections in coordination with electrical and controls teams.
Coordinate and monitor the daily tasks of wiring technicians or subcontractors working on sensor and actuator installation.
Ensure proper routing, dressing, and termination of control cables, sensor lines, and actuator connections.
Supervise the physical connection of various field devices, including proximity sensors, pressure switches, flow meters, solenoid valves, and linear actuators.
Assist with loop checking and continuity verification with the control team.
Ensure all wiring activities comply with relevant standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, or local codes).
Enforce safety practices during installation, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and PPE usage.
Review and verify wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and termination layouts.
Ensure correct labeling of wires, junction boxes, and terminal blocks as per project documentation.
Monitor usage and availability of cables, connectors, terminal blocks, cable trays, and conduit.
Report shortages or material issues to the project engineer or senior supervisor.
Work closely with control engineers during I/O testing, troubleshooting signal loss, polarity errors, or incorrect terminations.
Support live testing during FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) or SAT (Site Acceptance Test).
Conduct basic inspections to verify workmanship and identify potential issues in sensor/actuator wiring.
Support the resolution of wiring non-conformities and contribute to punch list closure.
Provide progress updates and field reports to senior supervisors or project managers.
Coordinate with mechanical and automation teams to avoid wiring conflicts or installation delays.
