Sensor Calibration Technician – Temp, RH, Pressure

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Junior Sensor Calibration Technician is responsible for assisting in the calibration, verification, and documentation of sensors and transmitters related to temperature, relative humidity (RH), and pressure. The technician ensures accurate measurement performance of instruments used in cleanrooms, process zones, and critical environments under supervision, while learning and applying industry standards and procedures.

Key Focus Areas:

  1. Basic Calibration Execution

    • Perform routine calibrations of temperature, RH, and pressure sensors using certified standards and under the guidance of senior technicians.

    • Assist in checking sensor accuracy, drift, and response time across defined ranges.

  2. Instrument Handling and Setup

    • Set up calibration test benches, prepare sensors for testing, and operate basic calibration tools (e.g., dry block calibrators, pressure pumps, RH generators).

  3. Documentation and Compliance

    • Record calibration results in logbooks or electronic systems with accuracy and clarity.

    • Support documentation efforts in alignment with SOPs and quality standards (e.g., ISO 17025, GMP).

  4. Preventive Maintenance Support

    • Help conduct preventive maintenance on field instruments used in environmental monitoring and process control systems.

    • Assist with minor repairs or adjustments to sensors as needed.

  5. Learning and Development

    • Actively learn calibration methodologies, industry regulations, and documentation protocols.

    • Gain knowledge of standards like NIST, IEC, ISO, and GAMP as they relate to sensor calibration.

  6. Team Collaboration and Safety

    • Work closely with senior calibration engineers, quality assurance teams, and facility technicians.

    • Follow all safety protocols, especially when working in cleanrooms or pressurized systems.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • ITI / Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.

  • Experience:

    • 0–2 years of experience in instrumentation calibration (freshers welcome with relevant academic background).

  • Skills:

    • Basic understanding of temperature, RH, and pressure measurement principles.

    • Familiarity with calibration tools or willing to be trained.

    • Good documentation and observational skills.
