The Senior SCADA/DCS Engineer at the Senior Level is a technical authority and project leader responsible for the end-to-end design, deployment, and optimization of industrial SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and DCS (Distributed Control Systems) platforms. This role combines hands-on engineering expertise with strategic planning and team mentorship to deliver robust, scalable, and cyber-secure automation systems in critical industrial environments.
Lead the architectural design of large-scale SCADA/DCS systems across multiple sites or enterprise operations.
Specify hardware/software requirements and network topologies for high-availability systems.
Ensure redundancy, failover, and system uptime strategies are in place and tested.
Develop and optimize control logic, HMI/SCADA interfaces, and alarm management systems using platforms like:
DCS: Siemens PCS 7, ABB 800xA, Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion
SCADA: Ignition, AVEVA System Platform, GE iFIX, Rockwell FactoryTalk
Integrate field devices, PLCs, RTUs, and I/O using industrial protocols (OPC UA, Profibus, Modbus, EtherNet/IP).
Support advanced features: batch automation, historian configuration, remote access, and analytics integration.
Lead full lifecycle projects (requirements → design → commissioning → support).
Supervise FAT/SAT, site commissioning, troubleshooting, and documentation.
Coordinate with vendors, EPC contractors, and internal teams across disciplines.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and integrators.
Implement and enforce cybersecurity practices per ISA/IEC 62443, NIST, and internal standards.
Ensure systems meet industry regulations (e.g., GMP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, SIL compliance, IEC 61511).
Maintain robust documentation: P&IDs, architecture diagrams, configuration logs, and change control records.
Lead SCADA/DCS modernization or migration projects from legacy platforms.
Integrate SCADA/DCS systems with MES, ERP, cloud analytics, and IIoT solutions.
Champion digital transformation initiatives in manufacturing, utilities, or energy sectors.
