Job Summary:

The Senior Proposal Engineer (Mid-Level) is responsible for preparing and coordinating detailed technical and commercial proposals in response to client RFQs, tenders, and project bids. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, accurate, and competitive submissions that align with technical specifications and commercial strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review tender documents (RFPs, RFQs, BOQs, drawings, specs) and analyze project scope, client requirements, and bid strategies.

  • Prepare complete bid packages, including technical proposals, compliance matrices, price breakdowns, project timelines, and execution methodologies.

  • Liaise with engineering, procurement, operations, and finance teams to collect and consolidate technical and commercial inputs.

  • Conduct cost estimation based on material take-offs (MTO), vendor quotes, in-house rates, and project assumptions.

  • Interface with vendors and subcontractors to obtain technical data, specifications, and pricing.

  • Ensure all proposals comply with technical specifications, industry standards, and internal approval processes.

  • Support the sales team during pre-bid meetings, bid clarifications, and client presentations.

  • Maintain historical data of bids, pricing, and lessons learned to improve future submissions.

  • Assist in developing proposal templates, case studies, and boilerplate content for consistency and efficiency.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering.

  • 3–5 years of experience in proposal engineering, estimation, or technical sales support in a relevant industry.

  • Strong knowledge of engineering deliverables, costing methodologies, and bidding procedures.

  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and proposal formatting tools; knowledge of ERP or CRM systems is a plus.

  • Familiarity with international codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, IEC, ISO) related to your sector.
