Job Summary:

The Senior Scaffolding Supervisor is responsible for leading, managing, and overseeing all scaffolding activities on complex construction or industrial projects. This role ensures all scaffolding works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with design specifications and safety regulations. The Senior Supervisor also manages scaffold teams, conducts inspections, and coordinates with engineers and HSE personnel to support site operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and supervise scaffolding erection, alteration, and dismantling activities across multiple work fronts.

  • Review and interpret scaffolding design drawings, method statements, and technical specifications.

  • Ensure scaffolding structures are safe, stable, and meet legal and regulatory standards.

  • Perform advanced inspections and sign-offs before scaffold use, especially for high-risk or suspended scaffolds.

  • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and HSE officers to meet project scaffolding needs.

  • Lead and mentor scaffolding teams, assigning work, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

  • Maintain accurate records of scaffolding inventory, daily activities, manpower deployment, and incidents.

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to working at height and scaffold integrity.

  • Liaise with third-party inspectors or certification bodies as required.

  • Train junior staff and ensure ongoing skill development and competency within the team.


Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.

  • Certified Scaffolding Supervisor (e.g., CISRS Advanced, CITB, or equivalent).

  • 6–10+ years of scaffolding experience, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

  • Deep knowledge of various scaffolding systems (tube & fitting, system scaffold) and load classifications.

  • Thorough understanding of international and local scaffolding safety standards (e.g., OSHA, BS EN 12811, ISO).


Preferred Competencies:

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and coordination skills.

  • Strong communication with the ability to lead diverse teams and interface with engineering and HSE teams.

  • Proven ability to manage scaffolding on large-scale, high-rise, or industrial sites (e.g., oil & gas, infrastructure).

  • High attention to detail, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality control.

  • Familiarity with scaffolding software or inspection/reporting tools is an advantage.
