Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary
As a Mid-Level Sales Engineer, you’ll own the technical engagement for a defined set of prospects and accounts. You’ll lead discovery calls, design tailored solutions, deliver compelling demos, and collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering to drive successful deal closures and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Technical Discovery & Solution Design

    • Lead in-depth technical discovery sessions to uncover requirements, constraints, and success criteria.

    • Architect end-to-end solutions—mapping product capabilities to customer needs and integration scenarios.

  2. Product Demonstrations & POCs

    • Develop and deliver customized demos and proof-of-concepts, showcasing advanced features and integrations.

    • Configure staging/demo environments, scripts, and sample data to reflect customer use cases.

  3. Proposal Development & Technical Documentation

    • Draft detailed technical proposals, architecture diagrams, and implementation plans.

    • Author whitepapers or solution briefs that articulate best practices, ROI, and deployment considerations.

  4. Deal Support & Negotiation

    • Address technical objections and escalate complex issues; partner with Legal/Finance on technical terms.

    • Provide estimates for implementation effort, licensing models, and support requirements.

  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with Product Management to relay customer feedback and influence roadmap priorities.

    • Liaise with Professional Services and Customer Success to ensure smooth handoffs and on-time deployments.

  6. Knowledge Sharing & Mentorship

    • Mentor junior sales engineers—conduct trainings, share playbooks, and run technical enablement sessions.

    • Maintain and update internal demo scripts, technical FAQs, and best-practice guides.


Qualifications

  • Experience: 3–5 years in a pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting role—ideally in enterprise software or cloud services.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency with APIs, scripting (Python, JavaScript), networking fundamentals, and data integration patterns.

    • Hands-on experience configuring SaaS platforms, on-premises systems, or cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

  • Certifications (Optional): Vendor-specific or cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Cisco, Microsoft).
