Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary
As a Junior Sales Engineer, you’ll partner closely with the sales team to provide technical expertise, conduct product demos, and support the full sales cycle. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with a technical background who enjoy customer interaction and want to develop both their engineering and sales skills.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Technical Pre-Sales Support

    • Assist in qualifying prospects’ technical requirements and pain points.

    • Support senior sales engineers in solution design and proof-of-concept activities.

  2. Product Demonstrations & Trials

    • Prepare and deliver standard product demos and hands-on trials under guidance.

    • Configure demo environments and tailor basic use-case scenarios to prospect needs.

  3. Proposal & Documentation Assistance

    • Help draft technical sections of proposals, solution briefs, and response documents.

    • Maintain up-to-date product collateral, datasheets, and configurator tools.

  4. Customer Communications

    • Respond to basic technical questions via email or call; escalate complex queries.

    • Gather and document customer feedback on product features and usability.

  5. CRM & Reporting

    • Log all customer interactions, demo outcomes, and technical feedback in the CRM.

    • Produce weekly reports on demo activities, trial conversions, and technical objections.

  6. Learning & Development

    • Participate in product training, sales methodology workshops, and shadowing senior engineers.

    • Build foundational knowledge of the product architecture, APIs, and integration points.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Experience: 0–2 years in a technical support, customer-facing engineering, or intern role; familiarity with SaaS or enterprise software a plus.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Understanding of networking, databases, scripting (Python, JavaScript), or cloud fundamentals.

    • Comfortable learning new platforms and tools; aptitude for troubleshooting and configuration.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Clear verbal and written communication; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
