The Mid-Level Safety Officer is responsible for implementing and monitoring site safety policies and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The role involves conducting risk assessments, inspecting work areas, training site personnel, and supporting a safe work culture across the project site.
Enforce HSE procedures and ensure compliance with local safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct daily site safety inspections, audits, and hazard identifications.
Prepare and maintain safety documentation including reports, incident logs, and corrective action plans.
Investigate accidents and near-misses and recommend preventive measures.
Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training sessions for workers and subcontractors.
Monitor usage of PPE and ensure proper safety signage is in place.
Assist in emergency preparedness and coordinate evacuation drills.
Liaise with the site management team to address safety concerns and improve practices.
Coordinate with external agencies during inspections or audits, if required.
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
NEBOSH IGC or equivalent recognized safety certification.
3–5 years of experience as a Safety Officer on construction, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of local labor laws and HSE regulations.
Proficient in preparing safety reports and conducting site-based safety assessments.
Good leadership and team coordination skills.
Strong observation, communication, and documentation abilities.
Problem-solving mindset and quick decision-making in emergency situations.
Ability to train and influence workers from diverse backgrounds.
Familiarity with construction safety software or incident reporting systems is a plus.
