The Junior Safety Officer assists in monitoring and enforcing safety procedures on construction or industrial sites. This entry-level role supports senior safety personnel in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting inspections, and promoting a safe working environment for all staff and workers.
Assist in implementing site-specific safety plans and procedures.
Conduct routine safety inspections and hazard identifications under supervision.
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by site workers.
Report unsafe conditions, near-misses, and incidents to the Senior Safety Officer.
Help maintain safety records, inspection reports, and incident logs.
Support in organizing safety training, toolbox talks, and inductions for new workers.
Observe daily operations and ensure alignment with local safety regulations and company policies.
Promote a culture of safety awareness among workers and subcontractors.
Provide first-level response during minor safety incidents or emergencies.
Diploma or certification in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
0–2 years of experience in a safety-related role (internships or on-site training acceptable).
Basic knowledge of construction safety practices and local safety regulations.
Familiarity with PPE, safety signage, and emergency procedures.
Good observation and reporting skills.
Ability to communicate safety instructions clearly to site workers.
Willingness to learn and grow under the guidance of senior HSE professionals.
Physically fit and able to work on construction or industrial sites.
Basic computer skills for report writing and documentation.
